January bullet journal monthly cover page

My January cover page was about a Dutch door with a floral wreath. Since I was pretty new to bullet journaling and I took inspiration from no other than the amazing Shayda Campbell. If you are new to bullet journaling and want to learn simple florals the easy way, check out her website and her youtube channel.

I chose this quote, which meant a lot to me at the time. I scrunched up some washi tape and kraft paper first (not sure if I liked the scrunched look, but I went with it) and stuck it in my journal. You have the monthly calendar with another small saying, 'Loyalty is Honesty's Twin' when you flip the page.

Batoul (the other half of Zpiecesdigital) created her first black and white monthly cover. And she went all out! A black paper with a page filled with cute, fun doodles, and with different characters that took her a long time to finish.

Finally, she used the same white gel pen to hand-letter January in a cartoon font style lettering to go with her whole theme.

February Monthly Cover Page

February monthly theme

Batoul's February bujo cover page was a moon shape filled with simple floral ink drawings. So, she used some tracing paper to trace the shape of her moon design and transferred the outline to black paper.
This method made it easier to cut out the black paper and stick it in her journal—lettering February with a gold Sakura gel pen.

If you've been following us for a while, you will notice my sister loves her black and white illustrations and adds gold to almost everything! :D

This February bullet journal monthly cover page was so fun to do and Kraft paper is one of my favorite papers to add to my bullet journal. I began by firstly using a white Sakura Gel pen, I drew a floral illustration. I then drew the same floral illustration with a black fine liner pen on the next page. My Kraft paper was where I chose to write my Gratitude and Goals for the month—I then added some cute romantic stickers for a pop of red color. Finally, Washi tape is one of the easiest ways to add something extra to your spread.

March Bullet Journal Monthly Cover Page

This March cover page consisted of a coffee bar. I decided to sketch it out and try some watercolor in my journal for the first time. The background wasn't the easiest to blend, but I went with it. I couldn't get the colors to blend, as you can probably tell. When it came time to color the tabletop, I tried to go over the painting with colored pencils. I was much happier with the results.

I cut the top cabinets so that they can open, and you can see the 'March' lettering on the next page.

Landscapes are a great way to practice watercolor painting. Batoul paints on watercolor paper and sticks in her journal. Once again, she's using black paper. But I have to admit, and the black makes her paintings stand out. This cover page is calming and relaxing, making it a perfect bujo theme.

April Monthly Cover Page

bullet journal page idea monthly spread

Batoul got out of her comfort zone this month and decided to go for a colored April cover page. Her theme includes hanging floral doodles, simple gold birdcages, and some butterflies.

We both love adding a 'one-word' inspiration spread to complete the spread. It just adds some positivity to your whole theme.

Beautiful pictures of cottage houses inspired this April Cover page. Cottage houses give such a cozy and loving feeling.
Beautiful gardens usually surround them with plants and flowers, making them that much more appealing.

Incorporating it into your theme is the perfect way to practice if you want to practice a new skill. So choosing a watercolor theme did take time, but it allowed me to practice my watercolor painting.

May Bullet Journal Monthly Cover Page

So I think Batoul went all out with this spread. It's my personal favorite from all her themes! Her floral illustrations are improving, and having a gold moon as a background makes this theme pop out from the page. She gets out of her comfort zone and tries splashing gold paint all over the page. Luckily it took her spread to the next level!

bullet journal cover page May

This May cover page is about sketchy drawings of vintage bikes and floral baskets. Only using one color on the headings and flowers makes them the focal point. I've never drawn bicycles before, and while in no way perfect, I got to experiment with drawing so many different vintage bicycles. Want to see the whole theme?

Bullet Journal cover pages are so exciting simply because it's the perfect opportunity to get inspired to try something new every month. The best part is that you get to see what your inspiration was that month and how you expressed your personality in every theme. It is unique and sentimental, and I encourage you to try it!

Until next time, bujo friends!

'Happy journaling, everyone, and don't forget to stay safe.'
