Have you ever tried a scrapbook theme in your BuJo? This post will cover all the bullet journal scrapbook ideas and how we made them. Read on so you can easily recreate them too.
Scrapbook supplies can get expensive, but I've figured out ways to save you money, use materials you already own, and extra goodies for those interested in investing in some supplies.
It can be confusing to know the difference between art journals, junk journals, etc. So I thought I'd start with a simple table to help simplify things.

What is the difference between a scrapbook vs a bullet journal?
Scrapbook Journal | A bullet journal (BuJo) |
blank page paper | dot grid pages |
collage of memorabilia | custom layouts for future, monthly, and daily logs |
consists mainly of memorable family photos | categorized by the month of the year |
can add written journal entries for memory keeping | You choose a theme for that month and make all the monthly layouts decorated with that theme |
decorate with different papers, stickers, lace, etc... | decorate with colored markers, stickers, washi tape, etc |
A scrapbook journal is an embellished photo album with added journal entries and artwork for memory keeping, whereas a bullet journal consists of spreads and custom layouts as a planner.
Since bullet journaling is customizable, I love to add it all in one notebook. By choosing themes and using art to decorate my planner pages, I enjoy the best of both worlds when I feel like it.
What do you put in a journal scrapbook?
Scrapbooking is all about arranging different papers, stickers, and anything you like in a collage-style layout.

Where to find different papers to make a bullet journal scrapbook spread?
A scrapbook spread involves combining elements to achieve a unique, aesthetically looking collage.
So here are some ideas on where to find different papers ranging from color, texture, or patterns in your home or purchasing online.
- Use paper from unfinished used notebooks you may have that you no longer use. Try to find different variations such as grid, lined and different color tones.
- Notepads are great because they come in all sort of colors, weights and even be decorated.
- Kraft paper - You can use paper bages and Kraft wrapping paper in items you purchase from stores.
- Digital media - This is the most recommended as it is a one-time purchase that you can print when needed. You can print on copy paper, matte, glossy or transperant sticker paper for different variations.
- Old novels that have fallen apart or no longer needed
- Buy paper sets - Journaling stores sell sets of different papers that are handmade and have beautiful texture that give the perfect aesthetic touch and feel to your spread.
So I'm so excited for this next part, and that's to go through all spreads we've made, what we used, and tips and tricks we've picked up along the way.

Creative Bullet Journal Scrapbook spread Ideas
This monthly cover page screams vintage aesthetic vibes. I recently ordered a washi tape set (my new obsession), and this picture doesn't do it justice. I never justified paying for expensive washi tapes, but now that I have, I don't think I can go back.
The quality is impressive, and the colors are subtle yet add a lovely touch that takes your spread to the next level. Next, I printed the bird I drew in procreate holding a vintage letter rolled up.
I attempted to letter the month in a vintage-style font.
I love to keep envelopes I receive, then I cut out some Kraft-lined paper to letter my quote.
And to finalize the spread, I used
vintage alphabet letter stamps to letter 'hello.'
Tip: If you are not great at lettering, then using alphabet letter stamps is an easy way to letter your headings.
In addition, you can use the stamps on Kraft paper to make your headings stand out more. Then I doodled scrolls and envelopes for a different section of the spreads like:
- Monthly calendar
- Priorities
- Goals

Kraft wrapping paper that comes in packaging is perfect for your bullet journal.
I found purchasing different digital collections is the perfect hack to have a wide range of options.
The benefits of purchasing a digital collection are:
- You buy it once
- You can size each item to fit your needs
- Print only when you need to
- It can be used in multiple ways (paper patterns, stickers, and so on)
- It saves you storage space
- Don't have to wait for delivery
The patterned paper is part of a free pack that you can get and try for yourself.
This bullet journal scrapbook layout was so easy and cute to make. Draw your weekly design by drawing lines loosely and adding dots and uneven lines. I then colored the background with a light-colored marker.
All the stickers are made on my Ipad digitally, including the daily round stickers. The washi tape is from Muji and one of my favorites.

A dutch door weekly spread is when you cut a portion of the page to create a door-like effect. I cut the page in half through the middle of the page, and this is functional because:
- I get to have two-weeks in one, enjoying the artistic upper top of the spread.
- Saves time as I only need to design the spread once
Here are the steps to make this spread:
- I first added two rows of the aqua color washi tape for a subtle background
- Then for the small envelope, I printed some vintage written note paper, tucked it in the envelope and added a small piece of black washi.
- Next I pasted in my bird illustration, that I drew on my Ipad
- I added my own stickers, except the stickers of flowers from one of my most-used digital packs that I printed on transparent sticker paper.
- I finished the spread with a small hand-drawn calendar of the month.
I separated the days with some washi tape and stickers in this dutch door weekly spread. I wanted the bird illustration to be the focal point, so I made a dutch door beneath it to have space for the last week of the month.

If you're an older sister or brother, this quote probably resembles how protective you are of your siblings. I had this beautiful gift wrapping paper, which I cut out the bird and marine flowers. The tag is just some Kraft paper bag I cut out in the shape of a tag, then I punched a hole and tied some string.
I added some brown canvas-like scraps for a rustic farmhouse vibe. Then, the white lace paper as added layer.
The paper with the written quote is from a free pack I downloaded from design-cuts. That goes with the stickers; they're just watercolor floral elements that I downloaded and printed on some matte sticker paper. And to tie everything together, I added some washi tape to go with the maroon washi tape I had from Muji.
TIPS FOR CREATING A SCRAPBOOK SPREAD
- Always start with cutting out all your different elements.
- If you intend to add any writing or headings, this is the time to decide how and where.
- I then play around with the placesment of all the pieces, until im happy with the layout.
- Finally its time to glue them all in
- Now I can add extra stickers and washi tape in places I think would tie the spread together.
This tree painting is one of my first attempts using watercolor paints. Instead of leaving it in an artbook, I prefer to incorporate it into my spreads. These are the steps to get this look:
- I added some brown cardstock scraps in the back
- Lettered the word ’thankful’ and cut it out for a sticker effect.
- added some stickers I’ve printed from freebies you can download on design-cuts
- Pasted in my painting and added some washi tape
I made this coffee-inspired mood tracker with a printable you can find in the resource hub.
I love adding Kraft paper, washi tape, and lettering the heading' mood' on some grid paper.
