simple plant doodles
A simple floral drawing with an inspirational quote is the perfect spread to add between your planner spreads.
If you love drawing with a fine black liner, floral doodles are perfect when you need a break from all the chaos.
So many people get intimidated by bullet journaling because they see all the artistic spreads that are ‘Instagram worthy.’ Anyone who is an artist begins somewhere. Step-by-step drawings are perfect when starting to draw.
Although I love getting inspired by artists, it’s important to remind yourself that it is your journey. Your first day isn’t going to be the same as someone’s five-year journey.
With a positive mindset, you can do anything. And, you will see progress if you put in the work. That goes with everything in life.
Practice makes perfect; the top floral borders are fun and easy to doodle. You can look at reference photos and draw detailed flowers like the ones below. A great tip is to have a sketchbook with you while watching tv or even before going to sleep.
These floral drawings have more detail, but they are worth the effort. If you want to see the complete monthly setup, head over here next:

More motivational quotes to inspire you to give it all you got. I love these spreads, and they make my bullet journal timeless.
plant leaf drawings
The options of different leaves to draw are endless. Especially if you are a beginner at painting and don’t know where to start, painting leaves is the perfect option.
Don’t be shy to experiment with colors; you can get exceptional results.
Bullet journal circle leaves.
You can spice things up by drawing them in a circle design to make a wreath. You can then take things further by adding a small calendar or an inspirational quote.
Choosing your colors is going to give different results. For example, we added hues of purple and gold details in the first spread, while the second spread is perfect for a fall theme.
how to draw a succulent easy
Succulents are so fun and easy to draw. Adding different variations of pots make them that much cuter. If you love your simple doodles, then this is perfect for you.
aesthetic hanging plant drawings
You can draw these hanging plant leaves in three easy steps. These are just a few examples, but you can get creative using different patterns, pot shapes, etc.
These hanging plant glass bottles are one of my personal favorites. To make them more interesting, I hung them from a log. ‘Grateful’ was my word of the year, and I still get inspired by this spread.
vine-like bullet journal flowers
You can add vines to any spread. A gratitude spread can be more fun when you add vine leaves hanging down to different posts. Then you can write a few critical things you are grateful for in your life.
Here is another cozy plant theme using a frame to add a meaningful quote. I don’t think you can ever add too many quote pages... lol!
bullet journal vines and flowers theme
My April monthly cover spread was full of hanging vines and flowers. However, this spread looks detailed in the steps below to see how easy it is to recreate this theme.
You can create a border for a heading by drawing hanging vine leaves. You have to keep filling in the frame with simple doodles till you are happy with the outcome. Here we added simple birdcage doodles and cute butterflies.
You can dangle vines from anything; how about them wrapped around a tree log? And by drawing the vine in the shape of a wreath, I made a beautiful birdhouse.
bullet journal plant tracker
Tracker spreads are undoubtedly among my favorite layouts to get creative with my theme. I think I enjoy making them even more than I do use them.
I love hanging plants, and I drew this in procreate. Then I drew a vertical tracker to track all my habits using a color key.
bullet journal mood tracker spread
This plant mood tracker spread is so easy to draw. The leaves facing forward have a heart shape with a pointy end. The side leaves are different sizes and angles to get an organic-looking plant.
By the way, I didn’t draw the pattern on the plant pot. If you haven’t tried this trick, you totally should, and it’s a great way to get used to your washi tape! Using can use Washi tape in your bullet journal in so many ways, and I love adding it to my drawings for a quick up-do.
This fall-inspired mood tracker is so much fun. Once again, I used washi tape for the umbrella drawing. And the rest of the spread is just simple leaf doodles to color throughout the month.
Cute bullet journal plant theme
If you are in the mood to draw a lot of cute swirly and fun doodles, this theme will blow you away. I look back, and I don’t know what inspired me to draw so many doodles on one spread; not my style. But I randomly drew whimsical patterns and doodles like a six-year-old.
Bullet journal house plants theme.
I get bored of using one medium, so my spreads go from digital illustrations like my March cover page, which I drew on my Ipad using my favorite app, Procreate. If you are looking for Procreate brushes made for drawing, I recommend the ultimate illustration bundle by Genevieve’s Design Studio.
Moreover, check out her youtube channel, which has a lot of helpful tutorials that have helped me in my digital art.
This March monthly cover is a drawing of my childhood home in Australia with my mother, who was obsessed with houseplants.
So when I’m lost on what theme to make for a new month. I’ve learned through bullet journaling a great way to stay inspired with my creativity. I now think of sentimental memories that I hold dear, I find myself staying inspired the whole month, and it takes me back to a happy place every time.
When I saw this quote scrolling through my Pinterest feed, I knew it was perfect for this spread. My sisters all have a love for houseplants from my mother. This quote hit home! The hanging plant is a Tradescantia Zebrina. It is one of my sisters’ plants, and I decided to use gouache paints. As you can see, I love my washi tape, and this set is so beautiful and aesthetic that I had to add it to this month’s theme.
Plant theme weekly spread layouts
A weekly spread has a beautiful painting of a beautiful burgundy rubber tree plant that my sister owns. I knew I had to paint it when I saw it, although I couldn’t get the leaves to look the same texture as the plant itself. Still, my bullet journal represents the learning journey with my art skills.
‘Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.’ Do you love this quote as much as I do? It was perfect for this succulent painting my sister had made herself.
The weekly spread layout is different from others I made; it’s so artistic yet functional because there’s still enough room for all my planning and even some daily journaling.
House plants themes are popular, and for a good reason; there are so many cute quotes you can add, like the one on this weekly spread ‘Be nice or leaf!’
We’ve enjoyed many bullet journal plant themes, and I’m sure they won’t be the last!
