I love to play around with different fonts, depending on my theme of the month. While some fonts need skills and practice, others are super easy but look fantastic, like this block letter font.
If you love to create amazing spreads but don't have the confidence in hand lettering, I GOT YOU COVERED!
Most of my spreads consist of modern calligraphy which I love and if you're interested in learning then read this next Easy Modern Calligraphy Course- Everything You Need To Learn
But there are so many easy fonts that are game-changers. The beauty is that anyone can do them and they complete the whole look of your theme and take your creativity to the next level.
I'm all about playing with fonts and this one you definitely want to give a try!
Most importantly it only takes four easy steps... that's it!
step 1 : Write out the alphabet in block letter font

Most of us have learned block letters from primary school, but there are so many variations to add and change that will give you a totally different outcome and you want to use a thicker fine liner - maybe 0.6mm.
step 2: draw a thin border inside each block letter font
Go look through your stash and grab a 0.1 fine liner. Draw a thin border inside each letter. No biggie!
Uni Pin Fineliner Drawing Pen - Sketching Set - Black Ink - 0.03 to 0.8mm - Set of 6step 3: Add some flourishes

By adding flourishes is going to make the biggest difference. choose simple flourishes, I love simple swirls and drops. You have the option of adding color or keep it neutral. It all depends on the look you are looking for. I added adding a pop of red and to complement my monthly theme!
My all-time favorite marker for hand-lettering and coloring is Tombow. They are just a pleasure to work with.
Tombow Pen Celebration Dual Brush Markers, 10-Pack, 10 PieceThere are so many color variations and they can get on the pricey side, if you want more color variety and a thinner tip for adding color then be sure to give these a try:
Kuretake ZIG CLEAN COLOR Real Brush 48 Colors set, AP-Certified, Flexible Brush Tip, Professional quality, Odourless, Xylene Free, Easy to creat narrow and wide lines, Made in JapanIf you do not need the markers for achieving thin and thick strokes, for hand-lettering (such as modern calligraphy). The ZIG clean color markers at a great price for 48 pieces. I find the thin tip to be really handy for coloring in. I love that you get a much wider color range at a cheaper price point.
Step 4: Color-in the inner border

Last simple step, you want to color in the inner box we drew in step 2. This adds a little something extra. It's all in the final touches.
This is just showing you a simple example, you can get creative and try different color combinations, play with the flourishes. The pen size you choose will also make a difference.
