Fall or Autumn is my favorite season of the year. So it's the perfect opportunity to take advantage of this beautiful season to make my October bullet journal theme. By adding Kraft paper and painting deers in an aesthetic fall scenery, it was perfect to welcome fall.

This month I thought of using circles as the main focal point of my bujo layout.
If you get overwhelmed to start from a blank page, I suggest breaking this process into parts. That way, things become way simpler. This applies to drawing or lettering.
So breaking the process of the layout, I first:
- I drew a circle where I want my illustration to be
- Now I decided how where I wanted my lettering to be and roughly sketched it out.
- I wanted to add Kraft paper so I cut around the right sound of the page and glued some Kraft paper
- I then used some left over Kraft paper to cut out the next circle and made sure it would fit my calendar layout
- There was empty white space at the bottom of the left page, so I added a short quote in simple lettering
When you work in sections, you enjoy the process so much more, and everything becomes more straightforward.
Remember,, part of the process is making mistakes, then trying to fix them. So don't get it to get to you if a spread does not work out the way you intend them to.
The finished spreads of most of my journals never turn out the way I intended.
But trust the process, and keep going!
Instead of ripping out your page, try finding a way to fix the mistake, so check this post out if you are interested:

So these past few months,, I've been so into using watercolor and gouache paints.
I'm no artist, but I can see progress... YAY!
October Monthly Calendar Page

By adding Kraft paper to the other side of this spread, I had an asymmetrical layout.
I first sketched out my calendar, then drew a tree (which is my favorite thing to draw in the world)
I used a dark brown gel pen to draw the tree. Then fill it in with a light Tombow brush marker. The brush marker smudges the gel pen,, and you get an organic colored tree.
You can add more gel pens for areas you want to have a darker gradient.
On the right side, I painted a cute deer using Gouache paints.
Tip: If you want to use paint in your journal, things to consider are:
- The paper of your journal is thick enough (and can handle water).
- I find using Gouache so much easier to use, because it doesn't need as much water as watercolor.
- You can always use watercolor paper for your illustration, then paste it in (I do this all the time).

As for the layout of this spread, I tried something new.
I numbered the days of the month in a list form on one page. It was super quick to make, and I don't need much room for my monthly calendar.
So depending on how much space you need, this layout may not work for everyone.
Dutch door weekly spreads

This is my favorite spread of this whole theme. You can make this layout for any theme.
The way I went about making this layout was:
- I first used a large size washi tapes for my circles.
- Then drew a circle in the center of each page (3 circles on each page).
- Next, I cut out another circle (the same size) of Kraft paper and pasted it on the last page.
- I sketched out my drawings and lettering
- The middle page, is where we need to cut out the circle. I just made a cut from the page (where I've covered it with washi tape :p).
- I now used washi tape to seperate all my spreads (and the cut I made to cut out the second page.
- Time for pens and paints - go over your letteringand and paint in the drawings.
- Now you just have to letter in the days!
By the way, the 'thank you 800 followers' was a memorable moment for us. We just wanted to share our appreciation to all our Instagram followers for their support.

As you can probably tell, I love my dutch door spreads. This layout is relatively simple. The top half of the page is for the drawing and the, and the dutch door is to fit in all the days of the week.
I added Kraft paper (which is packaging paper from items we order). Then drew some Autumn trees and a silhouette of some deers.
I nearly forgot to mention the washi tape, which was the final touch to finish this spread.
two- page Weekly Bujo layouts

More trees and Kraft paper, and, and I just used Kraft paper from another journal I own.
I used the Kraft paper for my weekly layout to create the tree weekly layout.
As for my last weekly spread of the month, I first cut out Kraft paper for each day (the top image)
I knew I wanted earthy fall tones. So I drew a deer from a picture I saw on Pinterest.
Then I just layered the grass till my hands were too tired :D.
I get carried away when I paint.
Lastly, I added a small calendar to fill up the space on the left side. Not to mention washi tape to tie my whole theme together.
October bullet journal Habit and Mood tracker
![bullet journal fall theme mood and habit tracker spread idea](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0681/0258/6678/files/4-683x1024_2021-11.png)
Brown, yellow and orange tones are perfect for a fall theme.
Using the most oversized watercolor brush I own, I began to layer the colors in streaks going horizontally.
Then gradually blended the colors until I was happy with it.
After sketching out my drawing, I drew it in with a black marker and filled it in.
Lettering on the paint can be a nightmare, soI made the heading and a simple habit tracker layout using Kraft paper. using Kraft paper.
This month, my mood tracker was a wreath made of leaves with a cute painted deer sleeping in the middle. I decided to add different leaves for each day. So I would color in two or three leaves per day.
